A large body of work exists showing the positive effects of exercise and physical activity in cancer survivors in terms of reducing side effects of the disease process, and improving a patientís functional ability and quality of life, regardless of the stage of the cancer.

There is also evidence that exercise may have an impact on survivorship rates and cancer recurrence

Activate Physiotherapy are credentialed to provide the PINC and STEEL Cancer Physiotherapy Rehabilitation programmes- PINC being designed for women recovering from cancer surgery or treatment and STEEL being the mensíprogramme.
These treatments are dedicated to improving the strength, quality of life and sense of wellbeing of men and women diagnosed with cancer. It is specifically designed to help maximise recovery, regain physical and emotional strength, improve body confidence and control.

The program is delivered by certified PINC and STEEL Cancer Rehab Physiotherapists and provides a full range of services designed to care, support and guide patients through every stage of their treatment and recovery.

Helen also teaches  Next Steps-a group exercise programme for women who have completed their main cancer treatment and want to take the next steps on the road to recovery.The program combines pilates,yoga and cardiovascular exercises for a workout that is specifically designed to help rebuild strength, flexibility and stamina.
